…is what my sister said when I told her I’m now designing a deck of playing cards. Not those kinds of playing cards, even if that would be totally awesome (and probably take 14 000 years to finish).
Starting out, it was a toss-up choice between Celtic and art nouveau as my chosen art style. The Celtic style has strong themes of good and evil, as well as heaps of technical drawing in great detail.
Art nouveau is much softer, and is very nature-orientated; the four seasons are a massive inspiration for this style. I felt that art nouveau was more my speed.
The art work is delicate and there are lot of curves and natural patterns. It’s an art style that I have always found quite beautiful and I’m looking forward to working with it.
